On Happiness
- The quest for an independent happiness

What I learned in life today:

If you look at a flower and it makes you happy
then your happiness is dependent upon that flower.
If you go out with friends, and it makes you happy
then your happiness is dependent upon your friends.
If you go to the movies and it makes you happy
then your happiness is dependent upon that distraction.
If you buy new clothes, or new toys and it makes you happy
then your happiness is dependent upon those objects.
If you win the lottery, and it makes you happy
then your happiness is dependent upon that money.
If you go for a walk and it makes you happy
then your happiness is dependent upon your health.
Any of these things can be taken away from you in a flash
What do you have left to make you happy without these dependencies?
The answer is you.
If you are happy with you, then you are happy. No matter what befalls you.
